Coach Requirements & Commitments

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Peabody Youth Soccer. Our program depends on dedicated volunteers, and this page outlines what is required before the season begins.

Massachusetts Youth Soccer Compliance Requirements

  • Mass Youth Soccer Annual Adult Registration (CORI/Background Check)
  • SafeSport Training (one-time, with annual refresher)
  • Concussion Training (renewed every 2 years)

Coaching Commitments

  • Attend all weekend games.
  • Run 1–2 practices per week (required for Grade 3 and above).
  • Communicate with families about schedules and team updates.
  • Focus on fun, skill-building, and sportsmanship.
  • Work collaboratively with assistant coaches, coordinators, and referees.
  • Care for team equipment and assist with field setup/takedown.
  • Serve as a positive role model for players and families.

Weekly Time Commitment by Age Group

The following outlines the typical weekly commitment for the Fall season. Spring season follows the same structure, with two practice time options: 5:00–6:15 PM and 6:15–7:30 PM.

  • Pre‑K: No practices. Games Sunday 10:30–11:30 AM (5‑week session).
  • Grades 1–2: Optional practices (5:00–6:30 PM). Sunday games: Girls 12:00–1:30 PM, Boys 1:30–3:00 PM.
  • Grades 3–4: One practice per week (5:00–6:30 PM, Mon–Fri). Saturday games: Boys 8:30 AM, Girls 10:00 AM.
  • Grades 5–6: One practice per week (5:00–6:30 PM, Mon–Fri). Saturday games: Co‑Ed at 10:30 AM or 12:00 PM.
  • Grades 7–8: One practice per week (5:00–6:30 PM, Mon–Fri). Saturday game time TBD.
